Some background; an Australian radio station had a segment where people called in about their jobs. A pig vet called in and read off propaganda about how good the pork industry is. We wrote to the station to point out how cruel pork farming really is and how pigs are as smart as dogs; this is what we got back:

You seriously need to doing some fact finding before sending random emails like this as it only shows you up to be incompetent in the position you seem to hold. You should be trying to get the media on your side to promote your cause rather than firing off emails like this.

I look forward to trying dog one day. I'm sure it will be just as delicious as all of the other meats I eat.

Yum Yum!

If you want to hear the original broadcast, it's on the 9th July and the time is from about 13min and 10sec to about 15 min:

I listened to the podcast and thought that it wasn't so much pork industry propaganda, but more of the rantings of a emotionally detached Vet who can see no wrong in eating the animals under their care.

Without being able to read the poster's original email to the radio station, it's a bit difficult to pass fair comment on them, however their reply pretty much sums up their couldn't give a shit attitude - they certainly have their heads in the sand when it comes to seeing the reality of pig health and welfare in Australia. Needless to say I've totally gone off Botica's Bunch and 94.5fm

With the Earths Climate CRISIS, and ever increasing population, the so called 'right to eat meat' ends when it consumes 10 times the land and water resources than vegetarianism does.

I was listening to 92.9 a few weeks ago and what they did in my opinion was atrocious. they had a vegetarian host and told her she could eat a steak and they would give $10,000 to a homeless shelter.

She was vegetarian for ethical reasons, and the other host knew she used to "love" steak so he had it made to how she used to eat it and got her to smell it and everything. I got angry and turned stations, but I was so annoyed.

In my opinion, that is the same as asking a wife to cheat and they will give money to a battered women's shelter, faithfulness is just a moral as well, just like not eating meat.

I still listen to the, just not those hosts anymore.
